As a linguist, I know that all languages are constantly changing because the people who utilize language are alive and therefore, constantly changing.

This immediately sets my mind in search of explanation of this seasonal question...

.....What characteristics qualifiy one's name to appear on Naughty list rather than Nice list ??????? 
 
....Turns out, "naughty" wasn't connected to a sense of morally wrong, wicked or evil until the 1520's.  Children didn't get the 'disobedient" label of the "N" word until 1630's.....
